About Carolina
Hello! I’m a professional cellist and private cello teacher. I started learning cello at age 7, and my love of music led me to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Rowan University. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from age 7 to students in their 70s. I believe it’s never too late to learn an instrument and bring the joy of playing music into your life.
Although I’m classically trained, I enjoy all kinds of music. I play for musicals at theaters throughout the Greater Philadelphia area, as well as for weddings and events. I’ve even been part of a pop/R&B band!

How I got started
When I was 3, my older sister started violin and my parents asked what I wanted to play. I wanted something bigger, because I thought bigger was better, and when I saw the cello it was love at first sight. They started me on lessons at 7. I still joke with my sister that I picked the better instrument, not because it’s bigger, but because it has the most beautiful sound.
What I love to play
Any music that lets me be expressive. The cello has such a beautiful voice, and it’s so rewarding when people listen and feel the emotions you’re creating with your instrument.
My advice for beginners
Learning an instrument takes time, so be patient and kind to yourself. With consistent practice you will get better, so celebrate the small successes and enjoy the process! And play confidently even when you don’t feel confident. You’ll be surprised how much better it sounds.
A favorite teaching moment
When something we’ve been working on for a while suddenly clicks. It’s always gratifying to see a student’s work pay off, and I’m just as excited as they are!
What’s next for me
I want to keep growing as a musician, because there’s no end to learning. I’d love to perform with more groups outside of classical music. The cello is so versatile and fits into so many styles.
