About Me
Hi, I’m Noelle! I am a vocalist and music educator that teaches voice and piano lessons at Haddonfield Sound Music. I grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and went to Ithaca College in NY for a Bachelor of Music degree in education. I love music and believe it's a core part of being human, no matter what skill level. That said, I have some techniques to help you sing and play your best! It is my hope that through lessons, students will know that music is accessible to them at any point in their lives - that it’s a space they can return to - whether it’s through listening, playing, creating, or using a combination to keep pursuing their hobbies and/or a professional career!
"It is my hope that through lessons, students will know that music is accessible to them at any point in their lives..."
When did you start playing music, what brought you to it?
I started singing in choir. The fulfillment of learning, growing, and creating with others led me to better myself as a vocalist and musician.
What other instruments, aside from the ones you teach, have you played before?
I have played clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, violin, viola, cello, and percussion at a beginner level as it was required for my degree! The clarinet I did play in elementary school as well. I also have conducting experience.
What style(s) of music do you like to play the most? Why?
I am a fan of performing classical, musical theater, popular music, and jazz due to the expressions of each one. They all share a way of conveying a message and emotions that can be played/sung creatively and effectively.
What is a musical obstacle that you remember overcoming? How did you overcome it?
Learning to practice was a hard-won battle. It took me a while to fully understand how to practice and the benefits of keeping up with something long-term. The patience of my teachers, support from friends, and my personal interest and goals helped me to overcome it.
What are some of your favorite teaching moments?
Moments of realization where students catch themselves improving and are happy and motivated to continue their progress.
What are some musical goals you hope to achieve?
I hope to further my music education to expand my craft and foster more points of growth with my students.
What advice could you give to someone who has just begun learning music?
Keep practicing, practice makes permanent, and make sure you’re doing it for yourself.
